Have I mentioned my make-up addiction? But even with my need for Girlie Rehab, there are days I sometimes leave the house with next to no makeup on. The three beauty items I never do without? Bronzer, lip gloss (preferably plumping) and mascara.
I’ll admit that I’m already pretty blessed with what my momma gave me. I have thick, long, lush lashes (sincere apologizes for sounding like a make-up commercial) – but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to play up one of my best features.
And these are the mascaras I love:

Estee Lauder Projectionist: Mentioned in Bazaar magazine (August 2007 issue, pg. 109), this mascara coats my lashes without clumping, and gives me amazing length while still maintaining a pretty decent semblance of natural-ness. This is my current fave. Love it.

Too Faced Lash Injection: Slightly more dramatic than Projectionist, this is a good one for going out. It delivers slightly more extension and thickness (sincere apologizes for sounding like a ED commercial) than the Estee Lauder product, giving me Disney-worthy doe-eyes. My water-proof version stays on all night without flaking. Win!
Shu Uemura Basic Black: An Allure’s Best winner, this is my go-to when I want to go au naturel – or at least look like I am. This mascara gives me a more demure, understated look while still coating every lash. The no muss, no fuss, easy-going look does come at a cost – this product is slightly under $30 – but this is the only mascara I’ve used that women have asked me, directly, what kind of mascara I’m wearing. And that’s a pretty big deal.
L’Oreal Voluminous: To prove that you don’t have to pay out the nose to get beautiful eyes, I’m throwing in this classic. High-quality, road-tested, well-worn and extensively proven, you just can’t go wrong with L’Oreal’s Volumious mascara. The fact that it’s under $10 should add a little extra sparkle to your peepers.
